Biography
Leonard Derle studied geography at LMU Munich. Since 2024, he has been enrolled in the master’s program ‘Geography: Global Change and Sustainability’ at the University of Vienna, specializing in Socioeconomic Transitions. His interests include sustainable transformation processes, alternative development approaches, and issues of social and climate justice in local, regional, and global contexts.
Since 2025, he has been part of the Urban Studies working group. During the winter term 2025, he supported the course ‘Urban Research to Practice: Science for Policy Hackathon’ (in collaboration with UniVie Innovation and the City of Vienna) as a tutor. Currently, he works as a student assistant (Circle U.) in the working group.
