Personal details

Leonard Kwhang-Gil Lemke is a doctoral researcher, who joined the Department of Geography and Regional Research through the Vienna International School for Earth and Space Sciences. Leonard studied International Relations (BA) at the University of Birmingham and obtained a Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences (MSc) from Wageningen University. His previous work on climate adaptation in the international development sector with the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) illustrates his interest in solution-oriented policy and practice to address grand societal challenges. As an interdisciplinary student in human geography, Leonard is now focusing on regional capacities for place-based transformation processes in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic through a comparative analysis of regional economic resilience in agritourism industries located in rural Austria and Thailand.
