Her research primarily focuses on the impacts of cultural and migration-based diversity on health, well-being, and social inclusion of immigrants in host societies. Recently, she has expanded her research interests to include multicultural co-existence, transnational aging, retirement migration, and old age care. Her current research projects include care migration of Japanese and Western retirees to Thailand, the sense of belonging among second-generation immigrants, and co-existence in Thai society amidst the cultural diversity resulting from the immigration of migrant workers from Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar.
During her stay as a visiting researcher at the Department of Geography and Regional Research during May 2023, she is interested in exploring the migrant integration policy of Austria and the EU, intercultural cities program and other integration activities aimed at promoting social cohesion, in line with her current research project about the integration of migrants into destination societies.
