Peat profile cutter
The peat profile cutter is a device for cutting undisturbed humus profiles from bog soils to a depth of 1 m. The peat profile cutter consists of a rectangular stainless steel container (divided in two longitudinal directions) with very sharp, specially shaped cutting edges on the underside of the cutter. The handle, which is connected to both halves by a hinge, ensures that the halves are pressed alternately into the ground. A clamping mechanism on the handle ensures that the pricked floor profile is clamped when it is pulled out. A small ventilation tube reduces the suction force of the sample. The standard setup includes: the peat profile cutter, tools, the lifting of the tree trestle with lever and a hand pump.
