Research Group Population, Environment, and Development

Our research group deals with population dynamics and we aim to understand and assess these dynamics in the context of environmental changes and development processes. The focus of our research is the resilience of populations at the nexus of social and ecological risks. Through our research and teaching activities at the interface of population, environment and development, we aim to contribute to sustainable development and the improvement of the livelihood of vulnerable groups.

At the moment our research group is working on projects in Thailand, Indonesia, Kenya, and Ethiopia.
