Biography
I have been a pre-doc in the Spatial Research and Planning working group since May 2024. My particular interest, which also underlies my PhD project, is the significance of historical contingencies for the implementation and advancement of spatial planning transitions towards sustainability. In this regard, my PhD project explores the significance of understanding and traditions for planning practice from a hermeneutic perspective while applying approaches from historical institutionalism.
Previously, I worked as a research assistant in the third-party funded project HOWKIEZ - Future Scenarios of Berlin Neighborhood Development at the Institute for Urban and Regional Planning at TU Berlin (2022-2023). In my research and various publications to this point, I have dealt with questions of knowledge and values in planning and their significance for a sustainable transition of urban spaces.
Linking different disciplinary strands and perspectives is central to my understanding of science. This is not least due to my own interdisciplinary background through studies in urban planning (B.Sc. and M.Sc. – HafenCity University Hamburg and Aalto University, Espoo) and philosophy (B.A. – Leibniz University Hannover).
