Biographie
I hold a Master's degree in Population and Social Gerontology, jointly completed at Miami University (USA) and the Institute for Population and Social Research at Mahidol University (Thailand). My acadamic background is rooted in qualitative research, with a particular interest in aging, vulnerability, and spatial (im)mobility.
My master's thesis, "Successful Aging in a Vulnerable Region," examined the lived experiences of older adults in Thailand's Deep South, a region marked by long-standing political violence. This work explored how aging individuals navigate adversity and redefine againg in place amid insecurity.
Building on this foundation, my PhD research investigates the (im)mobilities of older adults living in multi-risk environments - characterized by political conflict, climate vulnerability, and the social isolation from youth outmigration. The project also explores trancslocal relationships between generations, focusing on how connections between mobile and immobile family members help/not help older adults' immobilities decision to age in place. Through this research, I aim to contibute to the broader understanding of adaptation, resilience, and aging in contexts of protracted crisis and demographic shift amdist changing climate.
