I studied Development Economics at the University of Clermont Ferrand in France, where I acquired a strong background in social science research methods and a specific focus on developing countries settings. There, I started reading and writing about environmental migration, and especially about rural-urban migration due to rainfall and temperature long-term variability in Malawi. After my master, I worked as an Information Management and Mobile Data Collection officer in CartONG in France, a technical NGO supporting information management of humanitarian and development organisations.

At the Department of Geography and Regional Research, I aim to assess the role of immobility for environmental and climate change adaptation as part of my doctoral thesis. My work uses mainly mixed methods research design to analyse long-term migration and immobility outcomes in a case study in Eastern Ethiopia, with the analysis of long-term migration data from the HDSS demographic monitoring system (research cooperation) and combined with field work in the area of study (fieldwork in Kersa).
