I am enrolled in the Research Master Spatial Sciences at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands and assisting the Research Group Population, Environment, and Development at the University of Vienna as part of an internship. I chose the internship as it offers me the opportunity to learn in practice how to deal with large sets of secondary data on migration. This improvement of my skillset could prove advantageous in my future research career. Over the next ten weeks, my role is to contribute to the ongoing projects on environmental and climate mobilities, especially to assist in creating a knowledge hub regarding this topic. This includes the collection and assessment of various databases and scientific articles as well as science communication and general research assistance.
