Biography

I studied Human Geography in Vienna, Brussels and Leuven and hold a MA from the University of Vienna. After graduating, I worked for several years with cities and city networks on sustainable urban development while being an affiliated researcher at the Laboratory for Urban Environmental Justice and Sustainability in Barcelona. Currently I work with the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Ministry of Environmental Affairs on climate friendly urban development in cities in the global south. Within the Working Group Urban Studies, I am pursuing a PhD looking on the effect of crisis for urban sustainability transformations. For my dissertation, I will be analyzing the impact of the current Covid-19 pandemic for urban sustainability transformations and the potential of green recovery mechanisms. In my research I intend to link my practical experience regarding urban sustainable development with contemporary theory in urban studies.
